PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EDUCATORS

Helping Educators Support Neurodiverse Students — and Teach Every Student to Understand Differences
BOOK A SESSION
Students often ask, "Why does that kid get extra time?" or "Why do they get headphones and I don't?"

Those questions aren't signs of unkindness, they're opportunities to build empathy.

In this engaging professional development session, educators learn practical strategies for helping all students understand accommodations, reduce stigma, and. create classrooms where every child feels they belong

My professional development session brings together my personal story, what I’ve learned from students across the country, and practical strategies teachers can use right away.

Truly Fair: Helping ALL Your Students Understand Accommodations

I offer a 60-minute professional development session for teachers, administrators, and school staff focused on helping neurotypical students understand accommodations that neurodivergent peers receive. Helpful strategies to get students to understand that fair doesn't mean same, fair means everyone gets what they need.

During this interactive session, I combine live illustration, storytelling, and classroom strategies to also help educators understand what neurodiverse students experience in school—and how small shifts in communication, expectations, and classroom culture can make a meaningful difference. The session also includes time for Q&A, allowing educators to ask questions and discuss challenges they’re seeing in their own classrooms.

Drawing from my own experiences as a struggling neurodiverse student with dyslexia and ADHD, as well as lessons learned during 450+ school visits across the United States, I share real stories from classrooms and practical insights teachers can immediately apply.
